Morgan Perry’s Blog

update on Morgan

Hi everyone

Its been a while since we did an update.  Morgan had another EEG in the middle of November, well to say the least it was not good news.  They have found a spot where the line was cut to remove her to lobes of her brain. The spot is showing seizure activity on the EEG but we have not seen anything that is for sure a seizure on the outside.  What does this mean, well your guess is as good as ours but after looking at it in a non emotional way we decided that she is doing extremely well and so we will just have to wait and see.  Her medicine will not be decreased, which we were hoping to reduce some of it since she stills takes 1500mg a day of one of the meds in four different times and there is some serious side affects but what do you want, guess you can’t have everything.  But looking at her she is so much happier and doing very well in school. She even tells us about a boy she really likes named Edward, I am getting to old for this i might just have to lock her up until she is 30.

Ok as for the rest of the family we are all doing well except for the normal crud that goes around the schools at this time of the year, we just pass it between all of us.

We put a blog post out about KYLIE LAFLAMME and we have raised around two hundrend dollars for her, anybody that wants to make a donation can do it directly to her by the following

Love

Sully Adams Update

I just wanted to update about a little boy named Sully Adams who had brain surgery yesterday.  According to the information that his mother sent me, he was in surgery for 12 hours and as of this morning he is in the ICU and is doing OK. And we hope that Mom and Dad can finally get some rest becuase we know they havent probably slept in months.  The waiting was the hardest thing for Karen and I.  Sully is an amazing young man and we hope the very best for the Adams family.  His surgery was performed at Johns hopkins in Baltimore by an amazing surgeon by the name of Dr. Ben Carson, he has written many books and was the first Nuerosurgeon to perform seperation of simese twins joined at the head.  We know his background well because we took Morgan to Baltimore and spent 10 days in the hospital there because we wanted him to do Morgan’s surgery in the beginning. Thanks to all the amazing people who care for these special kids and family’s.

Oct 2008

Well it has been several weeks since we have posted, it has just been chaotic at this house or should I say at the zoo………….Morgan is doing excellent she met with her neurologist about 2 weeks ago and I think he was extremely happy with her progress.  We are going to do a couple of tests on Morgan and if we get some good results we will be taking her off another medication.  This will leave us with just one medication, the result should be even more awareness and less side affects from medications.  When I took Morgan in to her appointment this time she got to see the surgeon that performed her surgery, she has not seen him since the day she had the last surgery.  She not only recognized him but she grab his hand and pulled him to her and gave him a hug, that was the most incredible thing to watch.  Thanks Dr. Rekate we will always be grateful.  Okay so the  other things going on is I finally got my medical back and was allowed to return to flying after being on disablility for the last three months with problems.  Luke is in a structured hab class every day and we have seen wonderful things come from him.  He is finally starting to communicate, its amazing that he can write and count to 30 and He has also taught himself to read, but he has had no expressive language and when you ask him a simple question like whats your name he does not know.  But he is making great strides and we believe he will be just fine in the long run with some help!  Logan is still going to Montessori school and he will turn 5 on Halloween.  Its scary how time flies it seems like yesterday he was just a baby, I will put some pictures of him when he was a baby.  Karen is still just as busy as always flying at Delta and she has a business selling jewelry on her off time.  The last thing we want to say is to the family of Sully Adams who is in Baltimore having major brain surgery on the 14th, Keep the faith he will come through this and expect a miracle because they do happen.  Good luck and please know that we are all praying for you guys, I put a copy on the blog of the prayer your sister wrote, hopefully the more people that know the better.

Well got to go, I must go and clean the mess up that a 4 year old just made making pudding:)

Please say a prayer for Sully Adams who has surgery on the 14th of October.

Sullyʼs Prayer

October 14, 2008

Almighty God our heavenly Father, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers:  Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant, William Sullivan Adams, the help of your power that his sickness may be turned into health, his weakness banished and his strength restored.  Graciously comfort him in his suffering, and bless the means made use of for his cure. Strengthen him to do what he has to do, and bear what he has to bear; that accepting your healing gifts through the skill of surgeons and nurses, he may be restored to a healthy, happy child of God.  Fill his heart with confidence, though at times he may be afraid, he is not alone. Hear us, we pray for our dear Sullyʼs sake; through Jesus Christ our Lord

Amen.
